KURT BILLS RECEIVES REPUBLICAN ENDORSEMENT IN 37B
Looks forward to the general election in November

ROSEMOUNT, Minnesota (February 28, 2010) – Rosemount resident, high school teacher, business owner and city council member Kurt Bills yesterday received the Republican endorsement for the Minnesota House of Representatives in District 37B.

The honor came at the party’s district convention held February 27th at Scott Highland Middle School in Apple Valley.

Bills, an economics teacher at Rosemount High School and member of the Rosemount City Council, spent the last part of 2009 meeting voters and listening to their concerns before officially announcing his campaign in January.  Bills was well received at the party caucuses on February 2nd and yesterday’s endorsement allows his campaign to target the general elections in November.

“With the Republican endorsement we’re looking forward to bringing our voice to the broader electorate and unifying like-minded, fiscally conservative voters,” said Bills.  “I appreciate all of the support I’ve received so far.  It’s been energizing to see so many attend our coffee stops and sign up to volunteer.  I’m looking forward to meeting and visiting with as many residents of the district as I can between now and November 2nd.

“People are seeking honest leaders with a good grasp of economic realities,” Bills continued.  “We need to bring ECON101 to the Capitol.”

A graduate of Winona State University with a B.A. in American History and a masters’ degree in Education, Bills has taught and coached at Rosemount High School for the past 13 years.

He and his wife, Cindy, have been married for 15 years and are the parents of four children ages 13, 10, 5 and 3.  Bills is a member of the Rosemount High School Site Council and his family is a long-time member of Christ Church in Apple Valley.  Bills and his wife also own and operate a licensed home daycare.
