KURT BILLS FILES AFFIDAVIT OF CANDIDACY FOR HOUSE DISTRICT 37B REPRESENTATIVE
Makes run for state office official

ST. PAUL, Minnesota (June 2, 2010) – Kurt Bills, Republican-endorsed candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives in District 37B, made his candidacy official by filing the Affidavit of Candidacy with the Minnesota Secretary of State’s office in St. Paul.  Bills signed the affidavit on May 24th during the candidate-filing period that ran from May 18th through June 1st.  The filing means that Bills will be on the general election ballot November 2, 2010.

“This formalizes my campaign’s commitment to spreading our message of being responsible for Minnesota’s financial disorders and dealing with them now…not postponing them to be dealt with by our future generations,” said Bills.  “I’m going to be frank and honest about a way forward and let the voters decide.”

“It is apparent to me that the residents of Minnesota, and more specifically our legislative district, have a demand for economic virtue instead of politics-as-usual,” continued Bills.  “Make no mistake…the decisions ahead of us are going to be very difficult and we need leaders willing to stand by the courage of their convictions.”

Bills is an economics teacher at Rosemount High School, small business owner and Rosemount City Council member.

A graduate of Winona State University with a B.A. in American History and a masters’ degree in Education, Bills has taught and coached at Rosemount High School for the past 13 years.

He and his wife, Cindy, have been married for 15 years and are the parents of four children ages 13, 10, 5 and 3.  Bills is a member of the Rosemount High School Site Council and his family is a long-time member of Christ Church in Apple Valley.  Bills and his wife also own and operate a licensed home daycare.
