CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE GROUPS ENDORSE KURT BILLS
The groups say Bills is good for business.

Rosemount, Minnesota (August 26, 2010) – Rosemount High School economics teacher and small business owner Kurt Bills this month received the support of two pro-business groups – one local and the other statewide – in his campaign for the Minnesota House of Representatives.

Both the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Leadership Fund PAC and the Dakota County Regional Chamber Leadership Fund have endorsed Bills who is seeking the seat for House District 37B representing Rosemount and part of Apple Valley.

Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Leadership Fund Chairman Scott Thiss said the group is confident that Bills is “the kind of pro-business leader to lead Minnesota’s economic recovery.”

Similarly, Donald Hoeft, Dakota County Regional Chamber Leadership Fund Chair, said that the group’s endorsement “alerts local, regional and statewide business communities of [Bills’] commitment to improving and building upon the state’s business and economic environment.”

Bills is pleased to receive the endorsements. “At many homes I visit in the district, voters are telling me about someone who just lost their job or is worried about losing their job.  Taxes, the economy and jobs are the important issues this election year and I appreciate the groups’ recognizing my common sense fiscal positions,” said Bills. 

A graduate of Winona State University with a B.A. in American History and a masters’ degree in Education, Bills has taught and coached at Rosemount High School for the past 13 years.

He and his wife, Cindy, have been married for 15 years and are the parents of four children ages 13, 10, 5 and 3.  Bills is a member of the Rosemount High School Site Council and his family is a long-time member of Christ Church in Apple Valley.  Bills and his wife also own and operate a licensed home daycare.
